The short version
Flipbooker's built-in reader analytics are first-party and cookieless. They do not use analytics cookies or browser storage to identify readers. Optional publisher tracking is separate and loads only after the reader allows it.
Who is responsible for the data
Provided LLC operates Flipbooker. We determine how personal information is used for Flipbooker accounts, billing, our website, security, support, and service reliability.
For documents, audience information, access records, and reader analytics, the publisher generally decides why the information is processed and Flipbooker provides the service on its behalf.
Information we handle
We receive information from customers and readers, from their use of Flipbooker, and from service providers and customer-selected integrations. Information required for an account, purchase, or protected publication may be necessary to complete that request.
- Account, billing, purchase, and support information.
- Documents and other content uploaded to or created with Flipbooker.
- Reader usage and access information, including device and network information, referral data, and approximate location.
- Security, support, and diagnostic information.
Reader analytics and optional tracking
Built-in reader analytics do not use analytics cookies or browser storage to identify readers. When a publisher requires verified access or uses a tracked link, it may be able to associate engagement with a reader or link. Publishers may view, export, or send their data to integrations they configure.
A publisher may separately add analytics or marketing services. Those services load only after the reader allows them, and declining does not prevent access to the publication.
Why we use information and our legal grounds
- Accounts, subscriptions, publishing, checkout, and support: to perform our contract with a customer or take steps the customer requests.
- Customer-controlled content, protected access, reader analytics, and audit records: we process this information on the publisher's behalf. The publisher determines its applicable legal ground.
- Security, fraud prevention, service reliability, and diagnostics: for our legitimate interests in protecting and operating Flipbooker and its customers.
- Transaction records and legally required disclosures: to comply with legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims.
- Optional website or publisher-added tracking: with consent, which can be withdrawn.
When information is shared
We disclose information when needed to provide the service, comply with law, or protect rights and safety. Recipients may include the customer that controls the workspace; providers supporting hosting, storage, email, payments, customer support, security, and diagnostics; customer-selected integrations; professional advisers; and relevant authorities or other parties.
We do not sell reader engagement data or use it for third-party advertising.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. The period varies by information type, the customer and publication lifecycle, security and dispute needs, and legal obligations.
International processing
Flipbooker and its service providers may process information outside the reader's or customer's country. Where required, we rely on adequacy decisions, approved contractual protections, or another lawful transfer safeguard. Contact us for information about the safeguard relevant to your data.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to that use. Some rights have legal exceptions.
You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office. If a publisher controls the relevant data, we may send the request to that publisher.
Children and changes
Flipbooker is a business publishing service and is not directed to children. We may update this notice as our practices or legal obligations change; the date above identifies the current version.
Cookies and browser storage
Our separate notice explains the browser storage and optional services used by Flipbooker, including their purposes and durations.
