FlipBooker is an online tool that converts a PDF document in to an online flip book that looks great on all devices: desktop, tablet and mobile. We created FlipBooker to enhance the experience for readers of online content. You do not need to learn a Content Management System (CMS) such as WordPress or Joomla. You can simply take your existing documents in PDF format, and make them available online in seconds.

A flip book is like a web page, but instead of scrolling up and down we show the content like a magazine in which readers turn pages. Flipping provides a more natural reading experience. The flipping effect, as well as being able to present content with complex design, gives you the opportunity to showcase your work in a unique way that your readers will love!

FlipBooker is fantastic for any publishing any kind of content, and especially good for documents with complex designs such as:

Because the formatting of the document remains the same, you don’t need to worry about uploading images, aligning boxes, selecting fonts, and all of the other hassles that come with traditional web publishing. It is a true What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) system.

• It’s easy. You can design the document in your favorite word processor or desktop publishing program with precision. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Illustrator, whichever you prefer. They all can produce PDF files suitable for FlipBooker.
• It’s shareable on social media. Sharing options are built in to help promote your content to others.
• It’s presented in a unique format. Giving you a styling edge over your competitors’ blogs and PDF downloads.
• It’s consistent. The formatting remains the same across devices.

Creating an HTML flip book from your PDF file is easy:

1. Sign up to create an account. It’s free!
2. Upload your PDF file.
3. Wait for conversion to complete.
   Typically this takes less than 30 seconds, depending on the size of your document.
4. Have a look at the flip book we have prepared for you.
5. If you like what you see, pay a small fee to unlock the flip book.
   Unpaid flip books will last 24 hours before automatic removal from your account.
6. Link to the flip book from your web site, and/or download it to manage the content yourself.

You can upload and preview the work for free. The flip book will last 24 hours before it is deleted.

If you are happy with the production it costs just 50 cents per page to keep it. FlipBooker will host it for you and you can share it on social media, link to it, or embed it on your own web site.

Unpaid flip books last 24 hours before they are removed from the site. If you need them back, simply upload your PDF file again.

Paid flip books will remain alive for 12 months since your last log in to flipbooker.com. So all you need to do is log in once a year to keep your work online!

Not yet – but in most modern word processing and desktop publishing programs (Word, Publisher, Illustrator, etc) can save your document as a PDF file at your computer, and upload that PDF.

If you are using an older program on Windows that does not have a “Save as PDF” option, try the free Cute Writer program. This lets you print the document to a PDF file.

On a Mac when you go to print a document there is a button to save your work as a PDF.

Once you have uploaded a PDF and it is converted it will appear in your library. There is a button there to pay and immediately unlock your flip book. We use Stripe as our credit card merchant who are reliable, secure, and accept all major cards.

Most PDFs with text and graphics are supported. Because it’s free to convert and have a look at the produced flip book there is no harm in trying it out.

Some things don’t work so well and these include:

• Forms and dynamic content.
• Embedded multimedia.
• Annotations within the PDF file.
• Unusual page sizes or pages that change size.

We are working on support for these and would love your feedback for new features.

Best results are obtained from PDFs that are in portrait format, like a typical magazine or newsletter.

Also ensure that pages are presented as singles, and not doubles or spreads. This option is usually presented when exporting your PDF from a design program (such as Adobe InDesign) to PDF.

Finally, ensure that each page size in the PDF is the same. FlipBooker looks at the dimensions of the first page and from that assumes all subsequent pages are the same.

Once purchased you have various options to share your flip books, all of which are included in the price:

1. Embed the flip book in your own web site, letting us host it for you, just like a YouTube video.
   The HTML code for embedding is provided for you when viewing your library of flip books. You may have seen these before, they are called “IFRAMEs”.
2. Each flip book has social sharing options for Facebook, Twitter, and more! Need additional networks? Let us know so we can build it in.
3. The flip book is hosted on flipbooker.com, so you can simply link to it from your own web page or social media accounts.

If you need to download the flip book to host it on your own server, that is possible for regular uses of FlipBooker. Please get in contact with us to discuss pricing.

If you have paid for a flip book and found something wrong or are not happy with our service, please contact us for a refund. We are not happy until you are.

Whilst we do not share out links to flip books, they are publicly available if you share the link to them.

We do have a facility for corporate clients to protect access to flip books with user names and passwords. It is also possible to integrate this authentication in to your own web infrastructure. So if you are trying to restrict content to certain people, we suggest you get in contact with us and tell us what you are trying to achieve.

 

The FlipBooker system automatically detects links in your PDF to YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion and other video services. When you click on a link the video pops up, within the flip book, so that your readers do not have to leave your publication.
